It’s always nice to put a face to a name or voice, or just to know who you’re dealing with, especially when it comes to something as important as buying a house or as personal as making a Will.

There’s around 150 people working at Goldsmith Williams Solicitors so it would be impossible to introduce you to everyone. We can however introduce you to the management team, the people responsible for each department of the firm and the staff who will be working on your case.

Property

Lynne McCaffrey, Head of Property
Lynne McCaffrey joined Goldsmith Williams in 2005 and is responsible for the day to day running of the Property Department. She is a Licensed Conveyancer with over 18 years experience and has worked at every stage of the conveyancing process, leading to a role as conveyancing Manager and subsequent appointment to Head of Property.

Personal Injury and Care Home Fees

Adele Whittle, Director of Operations (Contentious)
Adele oversees the contentious side of the firm including the Personal Injury, Financial Claims and Care Home Fees Departments. Adele is a qualified solicitor with over 10 years PQE and has been with the firm since 2003 when she joined as an RTA solicitor. She has recently been appointed as Director, responsible for all the firm’s contentious business.

Wills and Estate Planning

Linda Cummins, Head of Wills and Estate
Linda is a qualified Solicitor of 10 years and a qualified Trust and Estate Practitioner of 8 years. She is a member of SFE (Solicitors for the Elderly) and STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners). She specialises in all aspects of Wills, Probate, Estate Planning and Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection work with 20 years overall legal experience.

Equity Release

Richard Espley, Head of Equity Release
A specialist property lawyer, Richard joined the firm in 2003 and heads the Equity Release team advising thousands of clients each year on releasing equity from their homes to support them in retirement. The department has an established national presence and Richard also serves as the firm’s representative at the Equity Release Solicitors Alliance.

Financial Claims

Chris Williams, Partner
As well as being one of the founding partners, Chris also manages the Financial Claims Department. He and the team have helped thousands of customer mis sold payment protection insurance (PPI), recovering over £32m to date.

Compliance

Maria Rodman, Head of Compliance
As Head of Compliance, Maria is responsible for ensuring that we comply with all our professional rules and regulations, continually reviewing, updating and monitoring our systems and controls. Maria is also our money laundering reporting officer.

Finance

Allister Hill, Finance Director
Allister Hill is responsible for the financial management of the partnership and associated companies. He joined Goldsmith Williams in March 2009 following previous roles at Carole Nash Insurance, Littlewoods and American Express.

Trevor Reese, Corporate Accountant
Trevor is Goldsmith Williams’ Corporate Accountant and also oversees our Finance department. Trevor is a qualified Chartered Accountant and is responsible for all financial aspects of the company.

Human Resources

Barbara Hillen, Head of Human Resources
Barbara is responsible for the day to day running of the HR Department. Barbara joined Goldsmith Williams in 2004 as an HR Assistant, leading to a role as HR manager and subsequent appointment to Head of Human Resources. She is also responsible for payroll, customer service, and quality assurance.

Sales and Marketing

Fiona King, Head of Marketing
Fiona King leads a progressive Marketing Team who deliver creatively executed campaigns and collateral directed at both introducers, and clients. A direct marketer by background, Fiona focuses on accountability and cost efficiency in managing her team’s activities. Prior to joining Goldsmith Williams in 2011 Fiona enjoyed a long and successful career in Financial Services, experience she draws on in formulating strategies and plans for the firm.

The Partners

Edward Goldsmith
Eddie is a founding partner in Goldsmith Williams Solicitors and former President of the Liverpool Law Society. He is currently the Chairman of the Conveyancing Association (CA) and is a recognised specialist and speaker in his field, writing columns for various national business magazines and online blogs.

Christopher Williams
As one of the founding partners, Chris is a specialist conveyancing solicitor and has been instrumental in the success of Goldsmith Williams through his business acumen and innovative ideas including ICT development and staff training through the firm’s Osmosis Academy. Chris continues to take a leading role in the strategic development of the firm.

Simon Cottrell
Senior partner Simon Cottrell joined the firm in 1986 and was instrumental in its expansion into Personal Injury litigation due to his national reputation as a specialist litigation solicitor. He has been on the editoral committee of the Claims Management magazine as well as being a member of both APIL and MASS.
