Goldsmith Williams Solicitors is one of the UK’s leading law firms, specialising in conveyancing, remortgage road traffic accidents and wills.

With 25 years experience, the firm is based in the heart of Liverpool and employs over 240 staff.

Goldsmith Williams is on the panel of every leading building society, bank and centralised lender, and acts for a wide network of mortgage advisers, packagers, networks and accident claims companies.

The new partnership was set up initially with two offices. Edward Goldsmith opened an office on Allerton Road, Liverpool with two part time secretaries and Chris Williams opened an office in Prenton, Wirral with one part time and one temporary secretary. The main business for the first two years was domestic Conveyancing which accounted for approximately 80% of the turnover for the two offices.

In September 1986 a further partner, Simon Cottrell, was brought into the firm to deal with Litigation work and in 1990 the firm created a specialist Personal Injury Litigation Department.

In December 1989, the Firm acquired and equipped large city centre premises on Stanley Street, Liverpool and closed the Allerton Road office whilst in 1990, expanding both the Liverpool and Wirral offices to provide for rapidly expanding staff numbers and increasing workload.

In 1996 the Birkenhead Office was closed and the business structure streamlined to fit in with the requirements of a high profile specialised law firm.

By 2002 the company had grown too large for the Stanley Street premises and acquired Mersey Chambers, previously, the prestigious head quarters of the Harrison Line shipping group. After 15 months of extensive refurbishment Goldsmith Williams moved in to the Grade II listed building on Liverpool’s world famous waterfront.

Currently, Goldsmith Williams employs over 240 staff and specialises in the Remortgage, Residential Conveyancing, Road Traffic Accident Litigation and Wills & Probate markets.
