23/04/2010 - Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology

Goldsmith Williams is delighted to announce that they have chosen to support ‘Clatterbridge your cancer centre’ by funding a new Ultrasound Machine for Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology at a cost of £12,000 which will be used to help with the delivery of chemotherapy to patients safely.

Clatterbridge your cancer centre’ raises money to provide the "extras" over and above what the NHS are expected to provide. With technology improving, the Ultrasound machines that are now available are much more advanced which offer significant benefits to patients and staff and are therefore key to be funded.

Maria Rodman, explained: "Goldsmith Williams is extremely pleased to have been able to support the crucial work of Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology by purchasing this Ultrasound System. The oncology department has provided excellent intensive care to Goldsmith Williams staff and family in recent years for which we are most grateful. We are extremely pleased to be able to give something back"

The new ultrasound technology makes the procedure much safer for our patients and it saves staff time and costs by ensuring that the chemotherapy is delivered much more efficiently. This is a vital aspect for the charity, who aim to improve the care, treatment and facilities that can be offered to patients through charitable donations.

As with a lot of support that the charity receives, it often stems from a personal connection to the centre. John Jones, Director for Learning & Development at Goldsmith Williams commented: "On a personal level I know from my own experience and that of family members how important the work of the Oncology Centre is. Clearly, this scanner will be of great benefit to patients and I am proud of my firm’s decision to help in this way"

Kim Smith, Senior Fundraiser at ‘Clatterbridge your cancer centre’ said: "We are incredibly grateful to Goldsmith Williams for their support and the new machine will help to make a real difference to our patient’s experience by significantly improving the standard of treatment that we can offer."
