Goldsmith Williams is a professional and environmentally conscious organisation, who acknowledges the effect that our operations may potentially have on the environment.  Our objective is to minimise any impact on the environment by:

  • Calculating our carbon footprint and actively trying to reduce this
  • Donating old / unused furniture and equipment to staff and / or local charities
  • Reducing waste and ensuring that, wherever practical, measures are implemented to recycle:
     - All paper waste
     - All cardboard waste
     - All toner / electronic cartridges
     - All cans and batteries
  • Taking action to eliminate or reduce any potentially advert environmental impacts where possible
  • Promoting environmental awareness amongst our suppliers, contractors and partners by implementation of operational procedures
  • Seeking to work in partnership with the community by behaving in a considerate and socially responsible manner
  • Employing an electronic communications policy as part of our strategy to reduce the use of consumables
  • Employing a water saving system in our facilities
  • Promoting an energy saving culture where regular reviews and undertaken to minimize wasteful behaviour
  • Promote a suggestion scheme for any waste reduction and/or recycling ideas

Senior Management has responsibility for the implementation of such procedures and must ensure that they are given adequate consideration

We fully comply with the statutory duties placed upon us whilst at all times complying with, as a matter of best practice, the requirements and duties set out in the Approved Guidance as issued by the Environmental Agency and other organizations.   As part of our commitment to maintaining a high level of environmental management, it is our intention that we will work towards environmental management systems compliant with ISO14001.

All employees and contractors are expected to co-operate and assist in the implementation of this policy, whilst ensuring that their own works, so far as reasonably practicable, are carried out without risk to themselves, others or the environment. This includes co-operating with Senior Management on any environment-related matter.

We will take all practical steps to ensure that potential hazards and risks to the environment are identified that suitable and effective preventive and control measures are implemented.  All employees will be provided with the necessary resources, information, instruction and training to fulfill the requirements of this Policy.

Senior Management has overall responsibility for all environmental issues.   The operation of this Policy and the associated procedures will be monitored and reviewed on a regular basis.  This Policy has been endorsed by the Partners who give full support to its implementation.
