We realise tenancy deposit disputes can be stressful at times – particularly if your landlord has not returned your deposit after a number weeks or even months since your tenancy ended. We want to put you at ease and investigate if they had any right to do this.

Make a Claim

Our service is based around three objectives:

  • Identifying whether your landlord has/had any right to take all or part of your tenancy deposit by checking whether it was registered in a government approved tenancy deposit scheme
  • Identifying whether your landlord has/had complied with all of their obligations under the Housing Act 2004 and Localism Act 2011
  • Recovering all money that is rightfully yours

If in the last 6 years you believe that your landlord may have wrongly kept all or part of your deposit, we can check to confirm that they complied with their obligations.

If the deposit was not protected in a government approved scheme or your landlord failed to comply with their obligations, we are able to claim back your deposit in full together with compensation of up to 3 times your original deposit on your behalf.

What are the basic requirements to make a claim?

  • Assured Shorthold Tenancy within the last 6 years;
  • Tenancy deposit paid to landlord; plus
  • One of the following scenarios:
  1. Deposit not protected in scheme by landlord
  2. Deposit not protected in scheme within 30 days (and tenant not provided with necessary information about the scheme used within 30 days)
  3. Deposit protected in scheme but tenant not provided with necessary information about the scheme used within 30 days
